　　Jean Stilwell Peccei is Senior Research Fellow and Visiting Lecturer at the Roehampton Instiute London. She is the author of Child Language （2nd edn 1999）and co-author of Language， Society and Power（1999）.

　　In Pragmatics， the study of meaning derived from context， Jean Stilwell Peccei offers a practical introduction to this core area of linguistics.
