　　杨孝明教授，1977年毕业于西安外国语大学，获学士学位，留校任教。1984年赴英国学习，并于1985年和1991年先后获得英语诺丁汉大学语言学硕士和美国俄亥俄州鲍陵格林州立大学英语博士学位，现为美国新泽西海洋学院终身教授，美国"现代语言协会"和"全美英语教师联合会"永久会员。杨孝明教授在学术研究方面也很有成绩，迄今已出版中、英文学术专著4部，译著1部，其英文专著The Rhetoric of Propaganda 和Error of Creativity在英国牛津大学、剑桥大学、哈佛大学、耶鲁大学等大学图书馆均有收藏。

　　《中国戏曲海外传播工程丛书·京藏剧：文成公主》是根据藏剧、京剧相结合的剧作《文成公主》编译而成的一部英文著作，是“中国戏曲海外外传播工程丛书”中非常重要的一部剧作。《文成公主》首先介绍了“文成公主进藏”这一广为流传的故事的原型，着重评析了这部剧“和亲式”创作手法和舞台表演形式，最后特别介绍了藏剧这种戏曲艺术。末尾另附藏剧、京剧《文成公主》的脚本。可谓是一部及文化普及、戏曲研究及传统文化宣传于一体的著作，将有助于中外读者了解中国传统文化、地方文化，尤其是戏曲文化。
