　　约翰·但恩（John Donne，1572-1631），十七世纪英国“玄学诗派”的鼻祖。因其诗怪诞奇诡，不合正统，不入俗流，故长期得不到应有的评价。直到二十世纪初，其全集出版，才被重新“发现”，受到著名诗人艾略特的极力推崇，其地位日益上升，大有超过弥尔顿而直逼莎士比亚之势。

　　《英诗经典名家名译：约翰·但恩诗选》内容选取十七世纪英国“玄学诗派”鼻祖约翰·但恩（John Donne）的诗作，包括《歌诗集》全部五十五首和“神学冥想”组诗十九首。译者傅浩对旧译重新进行整理、润色。所配英语原文以H. J. C. 格瑞厄森本为底本，呈现了一本新的诗选。
